CORAZÓN COMMUNITY SERVICES APPOINTS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

December 1, 2020
Cicero, Illinois

Ethan Jewett Corazón Community Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Ethan Alexander Jewett, MA, MDiv as its next Executive Director/CEO to improve the quality of life for children, youth and families in the Cicero/Berwyn community.

Ethan joins Corazón with over 20 years of expertise in nonprofit management, coalition and community building, and advocacy for children and families. He spent 10 years conducting health care policy, health services research, and advocacy at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), where he later directed governance and Board operations. While at the AAP, Ethan's policy portfolio consisted of initiatives to support women in medicine, increase the diversity of the physician workforce, address health disparities, and promote the delivery of culturally effective pediatric care.

Ethan has earned a reputation as an innovator and strategic thinker who emphasizes long-term sustainability. His leadership approach draws heavily from an appreciative inquiry model that builds upon an organization's and a community's strengths, while promoting leadership development and empowerment at all levels. He has spearheaded numerous multi-organizational partnerships and implemented creative programming on cutting-edge issues, which he has supported through intensive relationship building and robust fundraising.

Like Corazón, Ethan has a passionate commitment to holistic health and well-being, which he also practices as a priest in the Episcopal Church and a Certified Personal Trainer. Ethan's pastoral leadership has been devoted to creating authentic community in context and conducting activism on progressive social justice issues, including immigrant rights, homelessness, hunger relief, and access to health care.

Carmen Terrones, a member of Corazón's Board of Directors says, "We are delighted to have Ethan join the Corazón family. We look forward to sustaining and further expanding our footprint to support the wellbeing of our youth and families in Cicero and its surrounding communities. We are excited and looking forward to his leadership of Corazon and the continued impact and success of our team."

In his new position, Ethan will lead Corazón into the future by enhancing its infrastructure, expanding its resources, and building up its strategic capacity so that it may better serve the needs of the Cicero/Berwyn community and fulfill its mission.
